Description
Currently, CSPI is seeking a bright and energetic individual for its
Integrity in Science Project. The projects (www.cspinet.org/integrity)
aim is to increase public disclosure of conflicts of interest by scientists
and to obtain a balance of views to help the public, press, and
policy-makers obtain better advice about scientific issues.
Duties:
This is an
exciting opportunity for a dynamic person interested in public policy and
campaigning for change. Responsibilities include researching and
cataloging large quantities of data in a detail oriented, meticulous
fashion. Candidates should have an inquisitive nature with a desire
and ability to research via phone, internet and library. The Research
Assistant will also provide administrative support to the project Director
including, filing, faxing, proofreading and, scheduling.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a bachelors degree (in a science preferred),
and one to two years of applicable experience. Successful candidate
will demonstrate strong writing, communication, and interpersonal
skills. Computer proficiency necessary; database knowledge preferred.
Advocacy or public policy experience highly desirable. Knowledge and
interest in nutrition, health or environmental issues a plus.
