Founded in 1988, KLD Research & Analytics, Inc. is an independent investment research firm providing institutional investors with social and sustainability investment research, compliance services, consulting services, and indexes.  More than 400 clients worldwide use KLD products and services to integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria into their investment decisions. KLD's clients are primarily institutional investors and money managers.

The advertised position is located within the Consulting Services department and reports to the Managing Director of Consulting Services. The Consulting Services Department provides customized research to clients for screening, engagement, compliance and asset gathering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct customized social, environmental, and governance (ESG) research on companies.  Specific areas of focus will include, but will not be limited to, emerging market countries, animal welfare practices, and faith-based issues.
  • Manage relationships with select clients; ensuring their satisfaction and retention via regular contact, including attendance at client meetings. Respond promptly to ad hoc client requests.
  • Collaborate with other team members in completing assigned research projects.
  • Supervise interns on various projects as required.
  • May have some sales responsibilities, depending on experience.

Client confidentiality dictates a need for discretion and high personal ethical standards.

Qualifications:   

  • One years' experience in the field of socially responsible investing (SRI)/corporate social responsibility (CSR) is required
  • Ability to collect, review and summarize data in a specific format to meet client needs
  • Clear and concise writing skills
  • Research project management skills
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Office)
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines
  • Strong academic track record with a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to excel
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary starts in low $40,000's, depending on experience
