Description
Part-time or temporary full-time (6 months only)
KLD Research & Analytics, Inc., provides research, products and services for institutional investors and money managers who integrate environmental, social and governance factors into their investment decisions.
Analysts will work primarily on completing profiles of U.S. companies for use in the European market.
For this project, KLD covers an array of socially responsible investment (SRI) issues, including:
General company description
Community involvement/philanthropy
Corporate governance
Products
Employee relations
Contractors and sub-contractors
Environment
Controversial issues (gambling, pesticides, etc.)
KLD collects information on companies' policies, practices, management systems, controversies, and performance.
Job Duties
The Analyst will complete certain sections of the company profiles. The Analyst will collect and enter data primarily about the companies' business description, corporate governance policies, and community involvement.
Analysts' research portfolio will include large U.S. companies that operate in a variety of sectors and industries. Research resources may include: filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), companies' annual financial reports, companies' social and/or environmental reports, companies' web sites, and direct contact with the companies.
The Analyst will also have the opportunity to observe other aspects of KLD and learn more about the SRI industry through brown bag lunches, and staff meetings.
Qualifications
Successful applicants will have a strong, demonstrated interest and/or background in socially responsible investment, corporate social responsibility, or a range of related issues.
Applicants should have a college degree or expect to graduate from college within the next two years. Applicants should be reliable, trust-worthy, and detail-oriented and comfortable with working in a professional environment. While familiarity with financial reports and other documents from companies is preferred, it is not required.
