Description

Waubonsee Community College is a fully accredited community college situated on a beautiful 243-acre campus with an enrollment of more than 10,000 students a semester. Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other faculty in division and the Dean for Technology, Mathematics, and Physical Sciences in providing leadership for program and curriculum development, student recruitment and retention.
  • This is a new program which focuses on training for basic installation skills in the areas of photovoltaic, geothermal, solar thermal, and wind energy systems. During the first year, the faculty member will primarily be responsible for establishing the program: review/refinement of curriculum; design/installation of equipment; promotion of program; recruitment of students; pursuit of program accreditations.
  • Participate in related college and curricular activities. Incorporate learning-centered college principles and concepts.
  • Classes may be offered during daytime, evening and weekend hours and at multiple campus locations.

Qualifications: 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in related field or equivalent training and experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience and/or equivalent occupational experience required; minimum 2 years teaching experience at the community college or university level preferred.
  • An interdisciplinary focus integrating innovative learning strategies and demonstrated ability to enhance the success of diverse student populations is essential.
  • Experience incorporating technology and multimedia applications into the teaching and learning process and interest in all forms of alternative learning are highly desirable.
  • North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) PV Installer Certification and Solar Thermal Installer Certification.
