Position Overview: 

The Renewable business is directed at the global renewable power market and includes the development, manufacture, marketing and sale of grid-tie solar inverters, wind turbine converters, and off-grid solar and backup power inverters and provision of related services.

Through in-depth knowledge of our range of solar products, the Regional Sales Manager provides timely and effective sales and technical applications support to assigned Xantrex customers, prospects and distributors. The Regional Sales Manager works in a team environment and will largely focus on 3 phase market in conjunction with Solution Sales specialists.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides first level technical support and full commercial support to assigned customers, prospects and distributors. Follows up on leads provided by Marketing.
  • Acts as a liaison between customers and Sales Application Engineering in solving problems that require expertise at a higher technical level.
  • Maintains awareness of competitive products, comparisons to Xantrex vs. features, benefits, pricing, strengths and weaknesses.
  • Collaborates with Product Management, providing input for product improvements and new product development.
  • Reports to sales management any large order opportunities, business activity and customer problems. Creates Account Action Plans in conjunction with the Commercial VP and executes these plans.
  • Collaborates with internal solar products teams, including Engineering, Quality, Service, Product Management and Manufacturing to address customer issues as they arise from time to time.
  • Coordinates customer visits to Xantrex corporate headquarters, provide agendas and ensures appropriate Xantrex personnel participate as required. Prepares meeting reports highlighting action items required and ensures the actions are completed on time.
  • Travels (80%) into the field, throughout North America, to secure orders to meet target objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a technical degree or equivalent experience with at least 5 years in a senior commercial (sales) position.
  • Thorough knowledge three-phase electrical systems and applications.
  • Thorough knowledge of power conversion technology and electrical system designs.
  • Knowledge of solar power system design, including grid-tie and off-grid/battery backup solutions preferred.
  • Working knowledge of MS applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to details.
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to communicate our product and solutions value proposition.
  • Ability to provide presentations tailored to the target audience from C-Level executives to design engineers.
