Description
Ecosystem Services LLC (ES LLC), a leader in the development and commercialization of forestry carbon credits, seeks to hire 2 technical experts to join its technical team and support its growing portfolio or REDD projects in Peru and Brazil.
Position Overview:
The main function of both positions is to support the conceptualization and technical development of several new REDD projects in Peru and Brazil, including direct participation in deforestation modeling and PDD writing. Both experts will work under the direction of the Principal Forestry Advisor and/or the Senior Forestry and Sustainability Specialist.
Qualifications:
The candidates must have advanced degrees in forestry, ecology, geography, or sociology, with previous experience with REDD projects or initiatives. Experience developing PDDs under the VCS and CCB is required. Validation experience is a plus. In addition, the GIS expert must be able to perform image analyses and deforestation modeling. Some field work is also required.
Languages:
ES LLC uses English, Spanish and Portuguese as working languages. The candidates must be fluent in either one of these languages, and have a working knowledge of a second one. Fluency in 2 or more is strongly preferred.
Compensation: ES LLC offers a competitive compensation package comprised of a salary commensurate with experience and incentives combining performance-related bonuses and generous share options.
Location: Both positions are primarily desk based and thus location is flexible. Washington, Lima, Puerto Maldonado or Belem preferred.
