JDM Associates is an energy management and sustainability consulting firm specializing in real estate and located in Falls Church, VA.
Position Overwiew:
JDM Associates is seeking a highly-motivated and collaborative Quality Assurance Manager to review, edit, and ensure quality of all JDM documents and deliverables. This includes energy audit and property assessment reports, proposals, financial analyses, and data sets. The Quality Assurance Manager will review existing systems; develop standards, benchmarks, and formats; and recommend and implement improved processes.
Working collaboratively with company leaders, project managers, and clients, the position will review data sets and other information to identify anomalies, review the underlying rationale of the results and recommendations, and confirm the accuracy of calculations and claims.
Preferred experience includes 5 years of professional experience and a master's-level degree. JDM is seeking candidates with experience in business, building systems and technologies, energy efficiency and sustainability measures, commercial real estate, and/or engineering. Essential are strong skills in writing, editing, proofreading, problem-solving, financial analysis, critical thinking, numerical reasoning, oral and written communication, and interpersonal relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Perform edits, review, and/or coordinate edits of property assessments, energy audit reports, energy reduction targets, articles, case studies, and financial analyses.
- Review calculations, assumptions, cost-benefit analyses, and underlying logic used to estimate or measure savings due to energy efficiency or any other sustainability projects.
- Note, problem-solve, and correct any issues concerning inaccuracies, faulty logic, and assumptions being utilized by staff.
- Utilize energy modeling applications and spreadsheets to compare projected energy savings to actual savings by analyzing, questioning, and editing all documents for consistency, and accuracy (involving extensive quantitative analysis and formulas).
- Coordinate and develop quality standards and guidelines for all written documents, protocols, and requirements in support of JDM's energy efficiency and sustainability programs.
- Communicate, train, and coach JDM consultants and project managers in quality guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience involving writing, editing, proofreading, document review, and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of building systems and technologies, as well as sustainability topics including energy efficiency, water conservation, waste minimization, renewable energy, and integrated greenhouse and gas management.
- Experience with modeling techniques related to energy or environmental planning; ability to calculate and analyze the financial returns for environmental initiatives.
- Strong quantitative analysis skills; ability to discern underlying anomalies, inconsistencies, and faulty logic.
- Team-oriented, hands-on, adaptive, and client-focused.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict management, customer service, constructive confrontation, and reaching agreements.
- Facilitation skills appropriate for work with corporate clients and industry experts, with the ability to instill confidence and action.
