Project Manager

Xtreme Power is a Texas-based clean tech company that develops and manufactures utility-scale power control and energy storage systems, called Dynamic Power Resources (DPR). The Xtreme Power DPR enables better use of existing power generation and distribution resources, while furthering the integration of renewable generation, providing ancillary services, and automating load leveling for large energy users. Xtreme Power has already enjoyed success in several projects with scale and complexity growing over the last five years.

Position Overview:

Leads program scope, schedule, plan, budget and execution of large scale renewable energy storage systems, from concept through design, manufacture, test, installation, and commissioning.

Responsibilities:

• Drives project schedule & budgets.
• Negotiates and drives project scope.
• Manages project team to meet all deliverables.
• Interfaces with customers and suppliers, contractors and Engineers of Record.
• Builds rapport among internal and external project customers (good people skills).
• Performs project risk analysis & develops contingency plans.
• Demonstrates leadership and maturity throughout project lifecycle.
• Develops processes to facilitate future projects.

Qualifications:

• Strong verbal, written, and communication ability.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience in maintaining strong client relationships are required.
• Broad technical base to grasp & make sound decisions on a complex range of project issues / topics (electrical, mechanical, structural, thermal, etc) - knowing when to pull in which discipline experts.
• Judgment honed by experience, education, training, and wisdom.
• Confident decision-making ability; project planning & execution authority.

Education Required:

• B.S. in Engineering or Construction Management.

Education Preferred:

• BS or MS Electrical Engineering.
• PMP Certified.

Experience/Skills Musts:

• Proficient in MS Project, Primavera, or similar.
• Field construction experience required.

Experience/Skills Preferred:

• 10 years project management or engineering management experience.
• Previous start-up experience is a plus.
• Utility experience preferred.
• Controls and/or power experience preferred.
• Wind/solar experience a plus.
