Position Overview:

Immediate opening for a Project Manager in the Fairfax, Virginia Water Resources Engineering Department. The position will provide flexibility for work assignments; schedules; interaction with clients, contractors and construction projects; mentoring and training less experienced staff; the opportunity to grow professionally; and interaction with numerous Dewberry offices on multi-disciplinary projects. The work assignments involve federal, state and local governments, as well as significant work with the private industry. Assignments will support significant local transportation and land development projects, as well as opportunities to support regional and/or national projects.

Qualifications:

  • GIS / CADD skills.
  • Knowledge of computer programs such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-1, HEC-2, TR-20, etc. is preferred.
  • A Virginia Professional Engineer's license is required. VDOT experience required.
  • The successful candidate should have between 4 to 15 years of experience, with high competency levels in one or more disciplines including hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management, best management practices, floodplain management, river hydraulics (including hydraulic design for bridges and culverts), design and construction techniques, stream restoration, and natural resources.
  • The top candidates is expected to work independently on some projects and with large teams on other projects. 
  • VDOT experience required.
