THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Project Manager (PM) is fully responsible for the oversight and management of the project cycle for Ideal Energy’s solar and energy storage projects. The PM provides day-to-day supervision and coordination of the pre-design process, scheduling, budgeting, plan-checking, acquisition of final permits and all field activities related to the physical construction of the PV array, installation teams, and any coordinated sub-contractors. This position reports to and carries out the direction of the Chief Executive Officer and the Finance Manager.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Interface with other project team members, including Engineering, Construction, and Supply chain to facilitate project execution strategy and objectives including schedule updates, changes, and impacts
  • Manage install crews and electrical crews, to meet departmental goals via appropriate allocation of workload and effective resource management
  • Formulate performance improvement plans and makes termination decisions as necessary
  • Interviews, selects, and trains new employees
  • Mentor, evaluate employee work and productivity, and develop employees
  • Meet with team members one-on-one to provide continual coaching and evaluation of process and procedures
  • Monitor day to day work of staff for process adherence and compliance
  • Engage in continuing education, training and safety protocol for the team
  • Manage the project schedule throughout the project lifecycle and secure any unique materials and/or equipment required to complete the project
  • Design and develop project schedule with at minimum milestones, tasks, and sub-tasks to ensure satisfactory realization of project contract requirements
  • Manage relationship with the customer to schedule work and coordinate services
  • Define elements of work, develop scope, solicit and manage bid process for subcontracted work as required
  • Execute all obligations associated with the project contract
  • Define the schedule and budget to meet contract requirements
  • Provide direction and coordination of all field activities
  • Oversee installation crews and installation progress
  • Ensure project quality is at or above standards
  • Additional duties required as needed

ABOUT YOU:

  • Experience in construction or installing photovoltaic systems required
  • You arrive at shop early morning, ready to work
  • You must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, work on rooftops and crawl spaces, and able to work on your feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in various positions, including, but not limited to: stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in extreme environments (example: heat, snow, rain, wind, etc.)
  • You have excellent communication skills and maintain calm and clear communication with both employees and customers, in-person, on the telephone, email, and text
  • You thrive in a team environment and can effectively and respectfully accomplish overall goals
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license
  • You have a clean driving record with no DUI in the past 5 years and are able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal, driving and drug screen
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance required

Compensation: 

  • Base Salary is $60,000-$85,000 Per year

LOCATION & SCHEDULE:

This position is 100% traveling, based on the location of projects within the region. Ideal Energy will provide accommodations for travel home as project schedules allow, usually in some variation of every other weekend home.
