Description

Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) is a national, nonprofit organization. Our mission is to support the development of renewable energy and watershed restoration while empowering people to shrink their carbon footprint.

Position Overview: 

Under the direction of the VP, Project Management Group the Project Coordinator manages a subset of BEF’s renewable energy demonstration projects, which typically consist of small-scale photovoltaic installations. The Coordinator oversees all aspects of project installation to ensure completion within time and budget constraints. The Coordinator assists the VP, PMG to evaluate, modify and re-design the project management process as needed.

Reports to: VP, Project Management Group

Responsibilities 

  • Receive and respond to general program inquiries
  • Communicate with potential applicants
  • Represent BEF in public settings, including at project opening events.
  • Write and present project reports to BEF staff and Board
  • Manage small-scale renewable energy projects based on PMG project process, as described in the PMG Project Management Manual. Project Management includes, but is not limited to, the following processes
    • Site survey and project design
    • Project budgeting
    • Bidding
    • Contracting (installer and host)
    • Oversight of system installation
    • Tax credit and financial incentives investigation and attainment
    • Data monitoring and kiosk installation
    • Coordination of project logistics between relevant project parties, including funding partners, site host, contractors, information technology professionals, and equipment manufacturers
    • Management of curriculum delivery
    • Communication of project status to project partners
    • Oversees the work of contractors, suppliers and/or vendors as necessary in the course of managing specific projects and other efforts.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the VP, PMG

Qualifications:

Job Requirements:

  • 1+ years of Project Management experience; experience managing multiple projects, budgets, and timelines
  • Undergraduate degree in mechanical, electrical engineering or renewable energy field
  • Familiarity with residential and commercial electrical systems, building permitting processes and common engineering practices
  • Advanced computer skills including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite; Excellent multi-tasking skills; Ability to embrace new challenges in a rapidly growing changing environment

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience designing photovoltaic systems
  • Experience writing contracts and construction specifications
  • 1+ year(s) Program Development
  • Experience or knowledge of data monitoring systems
  • Ability to create an organizational structure for a project, design information management systems, and create and adhere to project completion timelines
