Project Consultant

Headquartered in Richmond, Virginia and with a regional office in Washington, DC, SDC provides expert project-specific and general consulting on planning, site design, water, energy, materials and indoor environmental quality issues for sustainable design and operations. SDC also provides lectures, workshops and trainings on a wide range of green building topics.

Position Overview 

SDC has immediate need in our Washington, DC office for a Project Consultant degreed in and having minimum 4 years experience in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management or other fields related to the building industry.

Responsibilities 

• This position supports a team managing LEED / green building design, construction, operations and maintenance projects and training initiatives.
• The successful candidate will support multiple Project Managers managing numerous consulting projects and play a supporting role in the development of consulting tools, services, resources and trainings.  

Qualifications 

• Candidates must be knowledgeable in commercial green building principles and practices and have played a role in a minimum of two LEED projects.
• Candidates must be proficient in navigating architectural and engineering drawings and specifications and must have experience with LEED Online.
• Candidates must be proficient in MS Office programs and Internet research. LEED Green Associate credential required, and the successful candidate must demonstrate ability to the LEED professional accreditation with Specialty within 6 months of the day of employment, if not already accredited. 
• Candidates must demonstrate strong initiative, organizational and time management skills and be flexible.
