Description
Paul Davis Architects (PDA) is a small, design oriented firm located in West LA/Mar Vista since mid-'07, when principal Paul Davis (since '98 with Salazar Davis Architects in NYC) returned to California.
PDA is housed in a bright, roomy storefront space on Venice Blvd. (near Venice high) with room for growth and a sunny garden. We are dedicated to providing a challenging, positive, and spirited work environment where no limits are placed on the ability of team members to contribute to the success of the firm's efforts.
Position is available immediately.
Position Overview:
The firm is engaged in a variety of ambitious and detail-intensive custom residential work, and seeks an additional full-time staff member to assist with/manage all phases of new and existing projects.
Projects will include custom modern single family residences, as well as renovations (some in traditional styles), multi-family modern housing, smaller scale commercial/retail work, as well as speculative ventures. We are particularly interested in sustainable, contextually sensitive design that takes advantage of opportunities for living and work in indoor/outdoor settings.
Qualifications:
Applicants should be graduates of accredited academic programs in architecture, with 5-7+ years office experience and strong design skills.
Positions will involve full range of architectural project work, from schematic design through construction administration, working closely with office principal, team members, contractors, consultants, and clients.
PDA seeks people communication skills (verbal, graphic, written), with a good command of graphic and office software (we use Vectorworks software on Mac computers and most value applicants with Vectorworks experience, but can train Autocad users).
We make high-quality drawing sets, and appreciate your skill in assembling construction documents, particularly if you have had experience doing modern commercial/institutional quality detailing (in residential or non-residential settings).
Construction administration experience (several substantial residential projects or equivalent complexity in commercial/retail/institutional work) is required.
Compensation: Benefits and salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience and employment history.
To Apply:
Please send brief cover letter, current resume, and pdf samples of relevant professional and academic design work by email.
Construction drawings including details as well as samples of hand drawing are appreciated. Please limit file sizes for easier handling. Please no drop-in visits or phone calls.
Applicants must be US residents with citizenship, green card, or valid visa.
