Description
The Program Manager reports to the Director of Climate Programs in the Environment Program and partners with the Director to manage the Climate Programs, including the Green Freight Group, Clean Cargo Group and ClimateBiz.com.
The following are the primary areas of responsibility:
*Manage specialized business working groups focused on improving the environmental performance of product transportation, both by ocean shipping and ground transport.
*Recruit company participation in business working groups.
*Secure funding for programs through foundations, government grants, and company resources.
*Partner with the Director to manage budgets, including program resources of $300,000 per year.
*Facilitate business meetings of up to 35 participants including senior executives.
*Develop voluntary corporate initiatives to improve environmental practices in U.S. operations as well as throughout the global supply chain in Asia and Latin America.
*Write analyses of business practices and summarize key findings from the business working groups.
*Create and follow project timelines.
Work directly with business leaders and decision makers to help identify opportunities and develop strategies for implementing sustainable business practices.
*Provide business advisory services to BSR member companies.
*Other duties as required and assigned by the Director of Climate Programs.
