Lead successful and diverse Conservation Corps programming from SCA's field office in New Paltz, NY! SCA is seeking a Director for its New York AmeriCorps program, which includes the Hudson Valley AmeriCorps and the Adirondack AmeriCorps programs.
The Hudson Valley AmeriCorps program consists of a team of 10 month and 5 month Corps members serving individually with conservation agencies throughout the Hudson Valley region, and the Adirondack AmeriCorps program is a 5 month residential Corps team program providing conservation service in the Adirondacks.
In addition, the Program Director supervises SCA's two Sustainability Corps programs: the West Virginia Sustainable Communities Project, and the Pittsburgh-based Green Cities Corps Pilot project.
Responsibilities include:
* Supervision of 2 field office staff members, 2-4 additional (remote) field project staff
* Directing 4 programs that include a total of over 40 Corps members.
* Serving as the key point of contact for SCA's agency partners
* Overseeing program development and implementation, evaluation, risk assessment and management, budget management, logistical coordination, corps member field service, and technical support.
* Ensuring the stated objectives of the program are met and evaluated and that the program is in compliance with all SCA, State and Federal requirements.
Qualifications:
BA/BS in Environmental Studies or related field and 4 years of progressively responsible experience including skills related to the position such as program management, leadership in an outdoor setting and experience working with programmatic partners.
