Salary: $28,000 + benefits

The Citizens Trade Campaign, a coalition of labor, environmental, religious, family farm, and consumer groups dedicated to advocating for socially and environmentally just international trade policies is searching for candidates for the position of Program Assistant to assist with coordination of CTC's legislative and grassroots work.

General Description:

The Program Assistant reports to the Director and provides substantive support to the Director in carrying out legislative trade campaigns, and performs administrative tasks as needed.

Specific Responsibilities:
*
Perform administrative tasks including copying, filing, making phone calls, and assisting Director with financial recording and accounting including paying bills, filing reimbursements etc.

*Work with the director to plan, develop and carry out legislative campaigns

*Assist with coordination of briefings, press conferences, and events

*Research background information on issues and prepare written communications for staff and coalition partners

*Serve as liaison between CTC staff and Executive Committee in meeting scheduling, media related activities, and grassroots reporting

*Assist in preparing written products such as formal correspondence, briefing materials, fact sheets, news releases

*Work with the field coordinators to build support from individuals and organizations in targeted states
*Attend and report on legislative and NGO briefings and meetings

Education: Bachelor (BA, BS, etc.)

Languages: English

Additional Qualifications:

In addition to possessing a strong commitment to progressive ideology and an interest in fair trade issues, the candidate should have general familiarity with the legislative process and advocacy.

Skills:

Good communication and interpersonal skills; excellent writing and organizational skills; working knowledge of database programs and the internet

Capabilities:

Ability to take initiative, work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks at once, and ability to adapt to changing situations on a daily basis.
