Description
The Battle Creek Outdoor Education Center fosters human development and promotes stewardship of the Earth using outdoor education as its methodology and experiential education as its philosophy. First school camp in the nation. We deliver residential programs to fifth and sixth grade students based on 4 themes: team building, natural history, lifetime leisure activities, and environmental education.
Position Overview:
Full-time and seasonal positions available August 31, 2009-May 31, 2010. Rotate dormitory supervision, dining hall supervision, large group activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in elementary, environmental, adventure, outdoor, experiential education; natural history, environmental interpretation, leisure or recreation management. Experience working with youth, residential camping, facilitating high/low ropes course and team building elements a plus.
Compensation: Full-time (academic year appointment) $375/week with medical, dental, vision insurance, and retirement package. Reasonable workday, weekends & summers free, unpaid Christmas and spring break, private cabin or room, most meals, 11 days paid staff training.
