Description

Climate Lab is a non-profit beginning operation in October, 2008, whose mission is to accelerate solutions to global climate change by organizing information that fosters collaboration and action.

Climate Lab will develop a participatory website - ClimateLab.org - that allows individuals, companies, and policymakers to contribute to and access a comprehensive source of information and funding opportunities related to climate change adaptation and mitigation. Initially, the website will combine an informational wiki with an "idea market" of project proposals and grant opportunities. As the user community grows, the Climate Lab will continue to leverage new internet technologies that empower concerned individuals and organizations to take meaningful action.

Position Overview:

Climate Lab seeks Interns who can help our efforts to build strategic partnerships with NGOs, technology firms, and academics working in the clean energy and climate change communities. Ideal candidates will combine strong person-to-person communication skills with a passion for collaborative Internet technology and finding solutions to global climate change.

Interns may work full- or part-time, but must make a minimum 3-month commitment. This internship is appropriate for undergraduates, graduate students, and individuals looking to start a career working in advocacy around climate change-related issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with NGOs, clean energy technology companies, and academic institutions
  • Recruit and support Climate Lab users
  • Help execute strategic communications campaigns, including email outreach and online advertising

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in or studying climate change-related issues
  • Excellent writing and research skills
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, and on deadline
  • Experience working on online communications campaigns
  • Experience working for non-profits or political campaigns a plus

Application Deadline: Open

Compensation: Interns will receive a modest stipend and transportation subsidy.
