Green Market Fundraising, Inc. (GMF) is working as a program partner of New Jersey's Clean Energy ProgramTM (NJCEP) and the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) to increase energy efficiency throughout the state of New Jersey. Through our compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL) fundraising program, GMF facilitates the sale of CFLs to raise funds for schools and organizations while providing environmental education for students and participants.

New Jersey schools and organizations are motivated to participate in our fundraising program as a result of the following program benefits:

  • 50% of Proceeds: Participating schools and organizations receive 50% of sales proceeds
  • Learn & Educate: GMF provides energy efficiency education to students, and as requested, GMF staff conduct educational sessions
  • Support from GMF: GMF provides staff for distribution of CFLs to customers
  • Leaders in the Community: Students and participants are visible ambassadors of positive change in the community as they help reduce energy usage, increase energy efficiency and help New Jersey's environment
  • Student / Participant Rewards: Individual prizes like the iPod shuffle and iTunes gift cards are awarded to participants that meet targeted levels

Responsibilities:

The NJ Sales Manager will be part of a 3 person full-time team managing the day-to-day requirements of our work for NJCEP and the BPU. The NJ Sales Manager will be responsible for selling the GMF fundraising program to schools or organizations in New Jersey that are seeking to raise funds. Specifically, the responsibilities of NJ Sales Manager are to:

  • Assume lead responsibility for the sales process within the State of New Jersey for NJCEP- & BPU-sponsored and GMF-led fundraising program;
  • Develop 2009 Sales Plan in conjunction with GMF Senior Management;
  • Sales Process & Lead Management:
    --Work with GMF Senior Management to obtain and follow up on existing pre-qualified leads including leads from 2008 NJPTA conference, leads from GMF website "Contact Us" and "Sign Up" forms, leads from GMF toll-free 1.866 #, etc.;
    --Develop new incremental leads via own set of contacts and networking efforts throughout state of New Jersey; as such, develop list of marketing opportunities including green conferences, green meetings, etc.; attend conferences and meetings;
    --Seek out and build relationships with leaders in NJ communities including business leaders, civic leaders, community politicians, school administrators and school board officials;
    --Work with NJ Operations Manager to obtain all potential leads generated from donation events conducted throughout New Jersey;
    --Work with GMF Senior Management for coordination with any and all marketing efforts pursued by GMF including partnerships with KilowattOurs (and other organizations) and marketing media (e.g., 4x6 mailer to NJ schools);
    --Work with other GMF sales contacts (e.g., informal sales reps) to convert leads to accounts and obtain a signed agreement for participation;
  • Understand and utilize GMF online Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database for tracking status of sales leads throughout the sales process;
  • Lead the weekly sales management call, providing GMF Senior Management with the status of all leads and converted leads (accounts); to extent relevant, utilize the GMF CRM database to generate relevant summary reports of leads, accounts, opportunities, # of students and projected # of CFL bulbs;
  • Coordinate with NJ Account Manager to transition the responsibility to newly-signed up schools to NJ Account Manager. Ensure NJ Account Manager is provided with signed agreement, any/all school contact information and any other background/ details of interactions;
  • Ensure school contacts understand transition of responsibility to NJ Account Manager and view NJ Account Manager as main point of contact in the post-signed contract time period;
  • After sale/delivery for Spring 2009
    --Follow up with participating schools to coordinate for repeat of fundraising program for Fall 2009;
    --Follow up with schools for internet sales.

• This position is not eligible for medical or retirement benefits.
• This position requires the use of a personal automobile. GMF will provide a mileage allowance.
