Description
EnerNOC, Inc. is a leading developer and provider of clean and intelligent energy solutions to commercial, institutional, and industrial customers, as well as electric power grid operators and utilities. Our technology-enabled demand response and energy management solutions help optimize the balance of electric supply and demand.
At EnerNOC, we are a phenomenal team of people that support the effective, economical, and environmentally-friendly stewardship of energy resources. We passionately pursue this goal daily by acting as market advocates, working with unparalleled integrity, pursuing the best cost-benefit opportunities for customers and our business, and remaining firmly committed to what we do. We believe our values and enthusiasm are contagious!
EnerNOC has an immediate need for a Network Operations Supervisor. The mission of the Network Operation Center is to provide capacity to the grid by reducing customers' electricity consumption on an emergency basis. Responsibilities of the Network Operations Supervisor are to maintain a network of over 1000 remote assets, develop, train for and execute demand response events, and manage a 24x7 service organization which includes a team of 6-8 people.
A key objective for the Network Operations Supervisor will be to develop the Network Operations team into a true Service Organization. This will include driving success through defining processes, metrics, service levels, and management reporting. Experience with ITIL methodologies is strongly desired.
The ideal candidate will find ways to increase operational efficiency by inventing ways to streamline operations. The Network Operations Supervisor will become a thought leader around EnerNOC's core operational processes, and will develop a deep understanding of the issues surrounding load curtailment, emergency backup generation, and demand response programs across the nation. Because we remotely control customer equipment and generation during potential blackout situations, we experience periods of extremely high stress. The successful candidate will have a proven record of managing operations during comparably stressful situations.
Required Qualifications/Skills/Education:
* Bachelor's degree in operations management, engineering, statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering or other analytic field.
* 10-15 years experience as a network operations manager, data center manager, call center manager, power generation operations manager, or other similar experience.
* Knowledge and experience with networking and data communication.
* Proven track record motivating and leading teams.
* Experience defining Service Level Agreements and managing a Service Organization.
* Ability to manage high-stress situations calmly and effectively.
* Excellent oral and written communications skills.
* Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
* Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work in a fast paced, forward moving environment.

* ITIL experience and/or certification desirable.
* Certification as a Cisco Certified Network Associate, Cisco Certified Security Professional, or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert a PLUS.
* Experience in energy management, power generation or related fields.
