PRO-telligent, A TetraTech Company, is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support our government contract in Springfield, Virginia.

The Network Engineer requires a solid background in networking (routing/switching/gateway management) to support a very diverse and complex network to include remediation, services monitoring and troubleshooting, deployment planning, coordination, and implementation, development and modification of project plans, standard processes, advanced desktop and infrastructure troubleshooting and superior customer service skills.

Candidate must be detailed oriented, capable of producing quality reports, project schedules and standard operating procedures in a timely and efficient manner.

Candidate must have the ability to work well under pressure, meet multiple deadlines, maintain customer focus in the midst of difficult circumstances and work well within a process oriented framework. The environment is fast-paced, high priority with an aim towards developing excellence in support of new site installations, and major infrastructure and equipment upgrades. 

Job Description & Responsibilities 

• Provides escalated, highly complex technical support to customers by investigating and resolving systems-related matters of significance; provides support telephonically and/or electronically.
• Plans, conducts and oversees the technical aspects of projects; coordinates the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects.
• Applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex system requirements and problems.
• Candidate is expected to work a set schedule during normal business hours but should be flexible and willing to support schedule changes to accommodate time differences for overseas customers on occasion.
• Candidate may need to work after normal business hours, on weekends and holidays, and travel to foreign missions when necessary.
• This position requires ability to work independently as well as within a small team. Sensitivity to accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism in all areas of support activity is imperative.
• Candidate must be able to communicate clearly (orally and written) and must be able to mentor junior staff as needed. 

The Network Engineer position is responsible for the design, deployment and support of network components across a very large and diverse network. Candidate must be able to obtain and perform elevated Enterprise-level system administrative access in a competent and reliable manner, and must have intermediate (Tier 3) proficiency with: 

• CISCO switching, routing and firewall products with the ability to configure, maintain, troubleshoot, design and produce quotes against design specs.
• Familiarity with Avaya switching and routing with the ability to configure, maintain, troubleshoot, design and produce quotes against design specs.
• DNS/TCP/IP and dynamic protocols.
• Deploy DHCP technology for a large network environment, implement subnetting, imp relay/Helper, and ability to troubleshoot DHCP scope from client to servers.
• MS Office 2007-2010, Visio.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot VOIP and modem products and technology.
• Management of multiple, large, complex IT projects involving multiple sites and large groups of end users.
• Participates in special projects and other duties as required.

Qualifications

Position Requirements/Knowledge Required: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
• Requires 6-8 years of progressively complex IT experience with a minimum of 3 years experience maintaining switches, routers, firewalls, and enterprise-level incident response.

Certifications Required: 

• CCNA
• CCNP preferred (routing switching/security) 

Candidate should be proficient with the following: 

• CISCO Prime Infrastructure
• CISCO Works
• SNMP
• VMWare and Virtualization technology
