Natural Resource Protection Specialist, Arboriculture/Environmental Construction Oversight

Position Overview 

Seeking a motivated, responsible individual with excellent field, written, and oral skills for a permanent full-time or 30-hour part-time arborist (field/construction) position in the Water & Natural Resources Group for AECOM, Inc., New York, NY.

Responsibilities

• Documenting all phases of construction in and around city-owned trees.
• Candidate will also provide oversight for excavation of sidewalk, installation of utility lines, and installation of new sidewalk around trees in the boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island.

• The ideal candidate would have 3+ years of experience in construction oversight and management and/or arborist services OR Bachelor's degree in natural resources sciences (e.g., biology, etc.), natural resource management, or environmental science.
• The ideal candidate would have at least three years of relevant work experience with natural resources, arborist-landscaping, and/or construction oversight.
• The position requires excellent business writing, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills, as well as the ability to multitask and work within deadlines. 
• Must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to navigate to and through Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in all four seasons and have the ability to traverse unassisted through a construction zone.
