Position Overview:

The Menu Sustainability Manager will create and lead the vision & strategy for a progressive sustainable menu and nutrition approach for Chick-fil-A.
This position will navigate Chick-fil-A through menu based nutrition, health & environmental imperatives to improve environmental profile of menu items. You'll also drive towards achieving a goal, where Chick-fil-A's most popular menu items are also health promoting and sustainable, and lead Chick-fil-A to develop new models of innovation that address business-friendly solutions to menu sustainability.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, design & implement a 1, 3 and 5 year strategy to address and positively impact Chick-fil-A, Inc.'s message of menu sustainability and nutrition, and oversee the execution of the vision / strategy
  • Broadly communicate and lead suggested menu sustainability and nutritional strategies across the Chick-fil-A, Inc. organization
  • Establish and implement a Chick-fil-A sustainability index and scorecard across select product categories
  • Participate as a member of Chick-fil-A's "Quarterly Roundtable" by engaging with internal and external panel members
  • Influence key Chick-fil-A, Inc. leadership and stakeholders with initiatives that drive / support the internal sustainability and nutrition message
  • Combine efforts with Chick-fil-A's Culinary team and supporting cross-functional team representatives to ensure alignment, efficiency and results
  • Deal with complex issues related to public health, government regulations, demanding consumers and internal stakeholders
  • Work with Supply Chain to positively impact economic viability and safe practices with Chick-fil-A, Inc. farmers, growers, suppliers and manufacturers
  • Maintain ongoing focus on upcoming menu sustainability trends, in order to minimize future risks
  • Act as a thought leader to paradigm shifts in food and menu production
  • Support the execution of technical training and capability development projects by identifying operational needs, developing improvement projects, and communicating priorities to achieve sustainability goals
  • Serve as a public spokesperson for this body of work
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for Chick-fil-A Nutritionists by training, mentoring, and assigning duties
  • Establish performance expectations and conduct regular performance evaluations and coaching

Qualifications:

Required 

  • Proven project management skills which include managing multiple project deliverables, optimizing the contribution of people involved, and completing assignments accurately & efficiently
  • Proven track record of ability to handle complexities, challenges, and responsibility
  • Ability to influence at multiple levels throughout the organization
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role within the Nutrition & Sustainability field
  • Minimum of 5 years of total experience in the Nutrition & Sustainability field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office computer software applications
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Proven track record of success in both professional and academic environments
  • Ability to build effective relationships with Chick-fil-A home office staff, Operators, consultants, and vendors
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%
  • Experience or knowledge in the following areas: food reclamation, local foods, nutrition, and/or sustainable farming
  • Technical knowledge on emerging trends in sustainability, energy efficiency, waste management, and environmental protection

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or knowledge in the following areas: business, economics, sustainability, food production, distribution, and food transportation
  • Active engagement in, passion for, or teaching experience in food sustainability practices
  • MBA in Environmental Studies, Sustainable Food Systems Farming, or Social Responsibility
