Description

Our client provides complete electrical, mechanical, and plumbing engineering design services.

Our client has a team of licensed Professional Engineers (PEs) and Engineers-In-Training (EITs), a Fire Protection Engineer, and a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) as well as several design personnel who have obtained their LEED AP certificates.

Position Overview:

The Mechanical Engineer will design, implement and oversee the installation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Design systems for new buildings or retrofit energy efficient systems to existing structures. Job duties include designing or overseeing the design of HVAC systems to meet specifications, coordinating budgets, meeting with clients and overseeing technicians. This person will create or revise technical drawings, troubleshoot issues on jobs and help with bidding, while focusing on energy efficiency. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Generating P&ID's, PFD's, and AFD's
  • Sizing and specifying components & equipment
  • System design, start-up, troubleshooting, and commissioning
  • Development of piping iso's
  • Equipment specifications
  • Sequences of operation
  • Construction scopes of work
  • Independently conduct on and off site evaluation of products to determine compliance with applicable standard(s)
  • Develop and set up test plans
  • Set up and operate standard test
  • Communicate project status and test results to client, sales personnel, and management throughout testing. Provide on-going support to clients as needed
  • Within policy guidelines, identify, properly document, and recommend engineering judgments

Qualifications: 

Education & Experience 

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • Prior consulting experience
  • EIT License required (PE license preferred)
  • 3-5 years experience
  • HVAC systems and the generation and distribution of support utilities are required
  • Excellent engineering judgment to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Experience with HVAC systems for industrial, pharmaceutical and manufacturing environments
  • Additional experience in utilities including water, steam and plumbing systems
  • Experience performing testing on information technology equipment, HVAC equipment, industrial machinery, food service equipment, laboratory equipment, household appliances
  • Prior project management experience is a plus

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters
  • Excellent communication skills, in both verbal and written formats
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to travel 25% 

Compensation: Base Pay for this position is $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year, adn will include bonuses.
