Position Overview:
We are seeking a Marketing Manager to develop, manage, implement and track marketing strategies and programs that generate sales for NSF Sustainability Solutions, Management Systems Registrations and Standards Development.
Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities and develop marketing strategies for NSF's environmental/sustainability solutions and strategic registrations services. Individual also will market NSF's National Center for Sustainability Standards.
- Develop, implement and manage strategic marketing plans/campaigns and budgets.
- Work with internal marketing teams, the business units (Sustainability Solutions, Strategic Registrations, and Standards Development), Business Development Managers and independently to develop business-to-business collateral, advertising, website, co-marketing initiatives and sales materials for assigned business units.
- Develop and update specific brochures and inserts
- Have primary responsibility for updating and maintenance of Sustainability Solutions, Strategic Registrations, and Standards Development Teams webpages
- Evaluate, recommend, negotiate and buy media space for trade advertising
- Conduct market, industry and competitive research and analysis to drive customer-focused plans, determine key program selling points and identify best customer prospects.
- Evaluate, recommend, negotiate and buy media space for trade advertising.
- Create a cohesive brand image across assigned business units through brand consistency and positioning efforts, consistent with overall NSF branding.
- Assist and support corporate marketing initiatives.
- Identify co-marketing opportunities with key clients and create and implement joint promotions.
- Generate leads for Business Development Managers supporting Sustainability Solutions, Strategic Registrations and Standards Development.
- Create, implement and analyze tracking mechanisms to determine effectiveness and ROI of marketing campaigns where possible. Actively look for innovative tracking/ROI solutions.
- Protect NSF's trademark assets through proper creation, design and usage of new marks.
- Travel domestically and/or internationally to attend trade shows, conferences or to support customers.
- Assist with interviewing and training new Marketing Managers/ Specialists.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years work related experience in marketing, communications or advertising
- Experience marketing consulting and technical services (rather than consumer products).
- B2B experience marketing environmental/sustainability/systems registration into Fortune 500-type firms at the corporate C-Suite level and/or into the EPA and other government agencies.
- Experience developing and implementing marketing strategies; plans and budgets.
- Strong organizational and research/analytical skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Problem solving skills including strategic, conceptual and analytical thinking.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently and in teams.
- Ability to write and direct the visual layout of trade advertising, collateral materials and websites.
- Professional industry-related portfolio.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
Preferred:
- Business to business marketing experience in manufacturing industries, automotive, chemical, transportation, utilities, construction; supply chain; green energy/tech, consumer goods manufacturers or to major retailers.
- Experience marketing manufacturing system and processes - quality, lean, six sigma, ems, kaizen, etc.
- Experience marketing consulting and technical services.
