Position Overview

ODC is seeking a full-time Marketing Communications and Outreach Coordinator to be based out of its Portland location. This position is primarily responsible for working with the Marketing Manager and Communication Specialist to coordinate
communications plans and work with the Communications Specialist to execute
internal and external communication projects, including website and social
media.

This position works with sales and marketing to create and execute staff
and retail support in the form of presentations and promotional materials. 

Responsibilities 

  • Participates in coordinating all aspects
    of internal and external events; works with sales and marketing to create
    demo program; demo coordination and execution; handles customer and public
    questions and requests as assigned.
  • Assists in planning events; coordinates logistics and all
    marketing administrative support needs for internal and external
    company-sponsored events, as assigned; works with marketing staff to execute
    annual event and project plans; responsible for coordinating all aspects of
    event planning, such as travel arrangements, as assigned. Works with Marketing
    Manager to plan and design display needs, i.e. tradeshow booth; responsible for
    coordinating production.

  • Provides support and coordination for web and social media
    campaigns for OGC, our brands and affiliates; writes and edits copy. 

  • Works with marketing and others to
    create presentation programs about our company and brands; responsible for
    creation of presentations including, not limited to, PowerPoint and print
    materials, as well as some execution of presenting internally and
    externally; other outreach as assigned.
  • Works with Sales and Marketing to
    create, and assist in execution of, retail product demo program & seasonal
    product promo planning; order, maintain and organize demo materials;
    coordinate with sales staff to ensure product is ordered, displayed,
    prepared and served for demonstration at retail; attend and/or support
    sales and marketing staff attendance at retail and event demos.
  • Responsible for writing and editing the
    produce report; assists in creating and editing the marketing report and
    other OGC internal and external communications. Stays current on issues
    related to organics, food, and industry events.   
  • Provides administrative and outreach
    support for community projects including GROW, Project Amigo and Farm to
    School Apple Program, including assisting in design, production and
    distribution of promo and communications materials.
  • Provides research, data and creative
    input on produce and grower POP, retail support, materials and
    merchandising and marketing materials, as assigned; acts as a liaison with
    outside vendors in designing, printing and distributing materials. Works with the Communications Specialist
    and assists in designing, and responsible for coordinating, supply and
    production of, marketing merchandise giveaways, such as magnets, pens, so
    forth.
  • Provides general communications support including writing and
    proofreading documents. Works with IT
    and other departments to organize, update and monitor the master list of
    vendors, accounts and community organizations used to produce OGC mailings.
    Responsible for organizing, maintaining and archiving marketing files, as
    photos, marketing materials, so forth.


Qualifications
 

  • Position
    requires Bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of 2 years of related marketing
    and/or communications experience or 5+ years of overall equivalent experience. 
  • Knowledge of organic produce trade preferred.
    Experience with writing and
    proofreading marketing materials and organizing events.
  • Previous work experience working for an organization with aspirational
    sustainability goals desired. 
  • Experience with workplace longevity, working
    a required schedule, showing up consistently and on time. 
  • Must have the ability to learn and use a
    variety of computer software programs.   
  • Basic math skills required.

Compensation: Pay range is 15.40-$24.06 per hour.
