Description

The Center for EcoTechnology works with small to medium-sized businesses who want to green their operations through a variety of measures including energy conservation /efficiency, recycling and composting.  

Position Overview:

The main function of this full time hourly position will be to provide administrative support and coordination to the marketing and development activities of the Center for EcoTechnology.  The position will be responsible for completing e-blasts, media releases, organizing events, sending fundraising letters and tracking, acknowledging, and reporting on contributions received.  The position will report to the Human Resources Manager.

Responsibilities:

Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Marketing:

  • Coordinates production of various marketing materials including direct mail, emails newsletters, media releases, collateral and advertising
  • Creates and sends regular email newsletters with some content provided by staff
  • Maintains all email and mailing lists
  • Sends media releases and provides follow up to help ensure placement
  • Maintains social media presence including writing regular updates and posts
  • Organizes and staffs Center for EcoTechnology events
  • Responsible for ordering business cards, letterhead and other branded items
  • Coordinates involvement in community events and trade shows and attends some
  • Assists with ad contracts and placement
  • Produces regularly scheduled reports on marketing activities
  • Prepares and maintains financial spreadsheets and reports for budgeting purposes

Development:

  • Processes and maintains records on all gifts, pledges, and membership transactions
  • Prepares receipts and acknowledgment letters in response to gifts received
  • Manages development databases and updates mailing lists, financial records, and printed labels
  • Generates reports of gifts and pledges for use by departmental and other organizational committees
  • Tracks and reports department expense budgets and revenue figures
  • Coordinates production of public relations materials to enhance institution image and promote fund raising program
  • Coordinates direct mail and email campaign to reach potential contributors

Qualifications:

  • College degree and 3 years experience in related field such as marketing, development, public relations
  • Excellent computer knowledge required - experienced with a variety of programs including fundraising databases (e.g. Fundraiser Select), email newsletter services (e.g. Vertical Response), website maintenance (e.g. Drupal, WordPress), Social Media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter), Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Powerpoint.  Familiarity with desktop publishing software (e.g. In Design) preferred  
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational and time management skills
  • Quick learner who enjoys working on multiple deadline-driven projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer service skills and good team player who is fun to work with
  • One year experience editing, proofreading printed material
  • Demonstrated experience with creating written material
  • Passion for our mission and community involvement

Compensation: The Center for EcoTechnology offers competitive pay rates and a comprehensive health plan which pays approximately 60% of the individual's health insurance costs.  New employees are eligible for health, dental and disability insurance after 30 days of employment.  New employees accrue 10 days of paid vacation leave per year, 9 sick days and we offer 12 paid holidays.  This position will be a full-time hourly position with benefits based in our Pittsfield office.
