Position Overview 

MSC is seeking candidates for a new position: Marketing and Communications Manager, in Toronto, Canada.  

The Marketing and Communications Manager, Canada role will play a leading role in developing our marketing, communications and promotions strategy and its execution, which will support the development of the MSC program in Canada. 

Reporting to the Program Director, Canada, the position will work in close co-operation with other MSC offices in the Americas and MSC staff in the global communications team.

This exciting and challenging new role provides a great opportunity for the right individual to shape and influence the MSC's commercial and consumer strategy in Canada. 

Responsibilities  

  • The role will work with key MSC commercial partners and seafood producers with the aim of expanding and coordinating multi-partner MSC campaigns and promotions that help raise awareness of the MSC ecolabel and grow our profile in Canada.
  • Work will include developing and delivering high-quality, innovative communications and marketing across multiple channels.
  • In addition to strategy, the role will be hands-on in day-to-day operational activities and will therefore need relevant technical skills and abilities.
  • You will also lead MSC's media engagement in Canada, social media presence, and generate communication materials as required. 

Qualifications  

Minimum qualifications include: 

  • University degree or equivalent experience. Relevant qualification in marketing, public relations or journalism is desirable.
  • Significant experience in a similar role, preferably with responsibility for managing and/or operating promotions and marketing campaigns with multiple partners or similar.  Knowledge or background in Canadian seafood, fisheries, natural resource management or food industry is desirable.
  • Demonstrated excellence in spoken and written communication in the English language is essential and in French is highly desirable.
  • Ability to travel, to work effectively while traveling, and to work irregular hours when necessary.  Must have a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.  Location:  Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
