Marine Resource Economist

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has an opening for a marine
resource economist in the Social Science Research Group at the Southeast Fisheries Science Center in
Miami, FL.

The position will
be filled at the GS-12 ($58,621) or GS-11 ($48,911) level.

Duties:

We are looking for a Ph.D. with research interests and experience in the fields of natural resources and policy
analysis to develop a research
program with concentration on the shrimp fisheries in the southeast.

Duties
and responsibilities will include the estimation of economic models and relationships, development of
bioeconomic models, analyses of fishery regulations, design and supervision of economic data
collections when needed, and
presentation of research results to fishery managers.
