Description

The Marine Fish Conservation Network (MFCN), a coalition of over 160 national, regional, and local environmental organizations; recreational and commercial fishing groups; and marine science groups dedicated to marine fish conservation and committed to long-term reform of U.S. fisheries laws, is seeking a qualified intern to work in its Washington, DC office.

Duties:
This position offers an excellent opportunity to work first hand with Congress, federal agencies, the media, and leading national and regional conservation groups. Responsibilities include

  • assisting the MFCN staff in maintaining MFCNs website, and computer databases;
  • collecting data on Congressional, federal agency, and Network member activities;
  • and providing general administrative support.

Qualifications:
Applicants should be computer literate and possess an interest in marine conservation.

Fisheries experience is a plus.

Terms:
This position is starts in January 2004 and runs through May 2004 (possibly longer).

This can be a full-time position, or part time depending on your school status and will pay $7.00/ hour.
