Position Overview:
PowerStream is seeking a Manager of Renewable Generation Projects who will be responsible for working within the company's Renewable Generation and Conservation division's Engineering and Construction group. This is a 12 month contract.
This Manager will lead all aspects of engineering, procurement and construction for assigned OPA FIT (Ontario Power Authority Feed-in Tariff) projects, by working with selected consultants, vendors and contractors. This position requires occasional travel to project sites in Ontario (generally within PowerStream service territory).
Responsibilities:
- Support the Business Development group (within the Renewable Generation and Conservation Division) in the early stages of projects by assisting when required on technical, commercial and economic components of projects as well as OPA FIT contract application processes.
- Manage the work performed by consultants, vendors and contractors working on various phases of the project including design, procurement construction and commissioning, such that projects are completed within project estimates and delivering power consistent with planning assumptions.
- Maintain revision control of all project documents, project action plans and project records.
- Develop detailed renewable generation project management plans, construction plans, project schedules, project budgets and appropriate procedures to enable projects to meet their respective financial requirements.
- Prepare, monitor and maintain the overall project schedule integrating the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) schedule with the schedule of permits, authorizations, and other contractual obligations.
Qualifications:
- Requires 5 to 10 years of technical, engineering, facilities management and/or construction experience including a minimum of 3 years of project management experience.
- Technical or Business Degree from an accredited Canadian University (Engineering Degree preferred).
- Ability to travel and willingness to work flexible and long hours.
- Skilled in planning, managing and completing construction projects within planning assumptions.
- Skilled in using Microsoft applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Project.
