Position Overview:

Parsons Infrastructure & Technology (PI&T) is seeking a senior professional to manage its Sustainable Development practices for the Energy Systems & Security Division (ESS).  The Successful candidate will lead customer-focused sustainable project delivery and internal sustainability practices encompassing environmental responsibility, utility and energy reduction, sustainable power sources, materials selection and waste minimization, and pollution prevention. 

The ESS Division supports Mission Critical facilities for USPS, TSA, FAA, CBP, TSSC, NASA, and the DOE.  These projects offer many exciting opportunities to promote Sustainable Development.  Examples include the installation of photovoltaic panels on 38,000 USPS buildings, improvement of the sustainability at airports on a nationwide scale for the FAA, and our award winning work at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with Division Program and Project Managers, identify emerging sustainability-driven markets, project opportunities, business development strategies, and value-based services and offerings. 
  • Demonstrate Sustainable Development technical expertise to assist customers in meeting their business and project sustainability objectives, promote best-value solutions, and support project delivery.
  • Represent Parsons Sustainable Development focus in professional associations, industry group, academic environments and government forums.
  • Develop and maintain Sustainable Development best practices and continuously improve internal practices by training and collecting, analyzing and reporting lessons learned.
  • Assist project teams to plan and implement sustainable development approaches and provide technical support in conjunction with overall project delivery.
  • Provide guidance and support for internal sustainable business practices encompassing office management and business practices.

Qualifications:

  • 15 to 20 years experience in engineering, construction or project management including at least 3 years in a technical or management leadership role.
  • Thorough understanding of sustainable practices, carbon management issues, and LEED certification process
  • Leadership and change management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization
  • Hold a B.S. or B.A. degree in engineering, architectural, environmental, construction or related fields. Graduate degree preferred.
