The U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, DC-based national nonprofit organization of over 11,000 corporate and organizational members from every sector of the building industry united to transform the building marketplace to sustainability, is currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with the experience to effectively provide support to LEED Faculty and LEED Certification Reviewers.

The Manager of LEED Faculty provides support to those individuals who have successfully completed all the requirements to become LEED Faculty and LEED Certification Reviewers established by the LEED Curriculum Committee and the Green Building Certification Institute.

This is a new program that offers a unique opportunity for creativity and innovation. Responsibilities include verifying qualifications, coordinating all necessary training and ongoing maintenance requirements, managing contracts, establishing regular communications and updates, performance evaluation, all financial support, maintaining web-based information and working closely with the Education Development team, the LEED Certification Team and the Green Building Certification Institute.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive support for the USGBC LEED Faculty in order to ensure a high quality of instruction of USGBC education programs
  • Provide comprehensive support for the LEED Certification Reviewers to ensure compliance with set standards
  • Maintain a record of training and ongoing maintenance of each credential
  • Establish a communication plan to keep faculty and reviewers up-to-date on changes or information relative to their work
  • Assist with the maintenance of the faculty extranet with Education Development Team
  • Manage financial aspects of the contracts
  • Maintain faculty information on the web
  • Monitor performance by reviewing program evaluations and feedback and create remediation plans as needed.
  • Other related tasks as assigned

Related Organizational Goals and Objectives:

  • Encourage and accelerate global adoption of green building practices education programs including, LEED rating system, tools and resources.
  • Offer a comprehensive education program including a variety of learning levels and technical information to meet the needs of a diverse USGBC audience.
  • Deliver customer service that is professional, timely and targeted to the customer's needs.
  • Ensure effective and professional staff support for USGBC Education Programs and committees

Qualifications/Skills:

  • 5 years professional office experience minimum
  • Prior experience in a member-based non-profit organization a plus.
  • Creativity, flexibility and innovative essential
  • Experience managing contracted individuals
  • Bachelors degree in a related building industry, policy, or environmental discipline, education
  • Program management experience including financial components
  • Knowledge of web content management
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication, organizational and computer skills
  • Commitment to USGBC Mission
