Position Overview:
Ceres is looking to hire a Manager, Investor Programs, to play a key role in Ceres’s work with investors on climate change. This position will focus on building the Investor Network on Climate Risk (INCR).
INCR is a network of more than 60 investors managing over $5 trillion of assets. Members include asset managers, state treasurers, pension funds, foundations, and other institutional investors. INCR promotes improved corporate and public policies on climate change. INCR is a project of Ceres. For more information, please visit www.incr.com. This is a full-time staff position that will report to the Director of Investor Programs.
Responsibilities include:
• Managing projects to encourage investors to engage with their portfolio companies on climate change with the aim of persuading leading corporations to disclose climate risk, reduce emissions, capitalize on opportunities, support policy solutions, and make other significant new public commitments.
• Leading activities to enlist investors to support appropriate state, national and international policies on climate change.
• Recruiting new investors to join INCR and participate in appropriate INCR projects and working groups focused on climate risks and opportunities
• Organizing INCR conferences, forums, and meetings
• Fundraising for INCR projects and programs
• Researching, writing, and editing activities related to the INCR website, INCR newsletter, INCR reports and other INCR publications
• Presenting at conferences, workshops and other events in the US and internationally and may include media interviews
Qualifications
• Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant work experience. Advanced degree in business, environment, law, policy or related field a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of and experience working with energy, climate change or sustainability issues, including an understanding of business, the investment community, policy debates, or environmental / sustainability NGOs.
• Sound judgment, sensitivity to diverse constituencies, excellent interpersonal skills, superior leadership ability, strong initiative and motivation.
• Successful record of organizing multiple projects and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective presentation style and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel as needed to accomplish duties noted above.
• Proficient with word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, and e-mail computer applications.
