Position Overview: 

CEE is seeking an experienced Manager with experience and/or education in business, science or marketing with demonstrated capability to analyze, synthesize and report sales data and other market-based information in support of CEE member's Consumer Electronics programs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the activities of CEE's Consumer Electronics Program Center according to its business plan, as well as developing and implementing a growth strategy that enhances its value to efficiency program administrators across the US and Canada. This individual will report to the Principal Program Manager of the Residential Sector as part of a five-person team. 

We seek candidates with demonstrated analytical ability, a flair for creative strategic thinking, a passion for energy efficiency and an aptitude for understanding market structures and untapped market value. Direct and demonstrable experience with managing large data sets and facility with manipulating data in Excel, including the use of macros and Visual Basic is required. The ideal candidate will also be versed in aspects of group facilitation and consensus building, as they will also work collaboratively with the residential team and other CEE staff in support of CEE's residential sector work, including its Consumer Electronics Committee.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operations of CEE's Consumer Electronics Program Center (CEPC), including maintaining its existing monthly market intelligence reporting on Televisions, while assessing and exploring new opportunities (e.g., set-top boxes, or other product categories that represent existing or emerging priorities for efficiency programs)
  • Serve as the principal contact for Center sponsors and as agent for sustaining and advancing the strategic direction of the CEPC
  • Facilitate and support regular meetings of Center Sponsors and other stakeholders via teleconference, virtual extranet platform, and in person
  • Manage and maintain online forum resources related to the Center that contribute to reporting and advancing the Center's work
  • Collaborate with and cultivate relationships with industry partners including; manufacturers, service providers, trade associations, and other stakeholders to inform the Center's direction and work products
  • Research new product areas or technologies, market conditions and energy savings potential
  • Analyze savings potential and synthesize information into recommendations for consideration and for work planning purposes
  • Produce and disseminate market and technology reports, white papers and other written work products. Communications mediums include but are not limited to the CEE website, the CEE extranet (Forum), electronic communications, and oral presentations
  • Monitor and communicate to internal and external stakeholders relevant technology, market, policy, federal minimum standards, and other industry developments that impact consumer electronics efficiency programs
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: 

To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria: 

  • A graduate degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, for example, a BA or BS including graduate coursework, honors thesis, or significant applicable employment experience, in a relevant field, such as engineering, economics, marketing, public policy or environmental studies
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • High degree of proficiency working with and manipulating data and advanced aptitude for manipulating data in MS Excel, including use of macros, VBA, or other relevant programming resources.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc)
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience. Energy Efficiency industry experience is preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated Leadership
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to facilitate groups and work constructively with individuals of varied experience levels and personalities to define goals and achieve consensus
  • Ability to manage workload across multiple projects, manage project timelines, and to work independently
  • Ability to understand market motivations and dynamics
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize quantitative information for different audiences
  • Willingness to travel (approximately one trip quarterly)
