The U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, DC-based national nonprofit organization of over 6,000 corporate and organizational members that is dedicated to promoting environmentally-responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work, is currently seeking an enthusiastic and energetic professional to provide comprehensive support to volunteer technical committees and staff leading the development and implementation of the LEED green building standards.
The LEED Technical Committee Coordinator will prepare discussion notes, memos, minutes and correspondence; schedule meetings and conference calls; manager listservs and Web site content; coordinate LEED product technical reviews; coordinate resolution of LEED Credit Interpretation Requests; and perform general administrative duties and special projects as needed.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Handle scheduling and logistics for committee/Technical Advisory Group (TAG) conference calls and meetings
- Prepare and distribute committee documents, minutes and correspondence
- Manage committee listservs, rosters, Web sites, document archives and calendars
- Participate in regular committee conference calls and meetings for committees/TAGs
- Manage new LEED committee member appointments, elections, and orientation for TAGs and application guide committees
- Handle general administrative tasks and special projects as needed
- Coordinate TAG/Committee activities relating to LEED Credit Interpretation Requests (CIR)
- Serve as quality control for LEED CIR responses
- Encourage and accelerate global adoption of green building practices through LEED standards, tools and performance criteria
- Offer a comprehensive portfolio of programs, including customer services supporting LEED products to meet the diverse needs of the building industry
- Deliver customer support that is professional, timely and targeted to the customer's needs
- Ensure effective and professional staff support for LEED committees
- Bachelor's degree in related building industry or environmental discipline
- 1-2 years relevant professional office experience
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Excellent communication, organizational and computer skills
- Commitment to USGBC Mission
- Knowledge of consensus principles, committee organization and governance, and non-profit governance principles
