The U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, DC-based national nonprofit organization of over 6,000 corporate and organizational members that is dedicated to promoting environmentally-responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work, is currently seeking an enthusiastic and energetic professional to support the Homes version of its LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System program.
The LEED for Homes Program Assistant will provide comprehensive support to the LEED Homes volunteer committee, working groups and staff leading the development and implementation of the LEED for Homes green building standards. Responsibilities include scheduling meetings and conference calls; preparing documents, minutes and correspondence; managing listservs and customer inquiries; and performing general administrative duties and special projects as needed.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to LEED Homes product committee and LEED for Homes Providers
- Handle scheduling and logistics for committee conference calls and meetings
- Prepare and distribute committee documents, minutes and correspondence
- Manage committee listservs, Web sites, document archives and calendars
- Participate in regular committee conference calls and meetings
- Process LEED for Homes builder registrations and project certifications as needed
- Handle general administrative tasks and special projects as needed
- Provide general support to committee and working groups
- Other related tasks as assigned
- Encourage and accelerate global adoption of green building practices through LEED standards, tools and performance criteria.
- Offer a comprehensive portfolio of programs including technical tools and services supporting LEED products to meet the diverse needs of the building industry.
- Deliver customer service that is professional, timely and targeted to the customer's needs.
- Ensure effective and professional staff support for LEED committees
- 1-2 years relevant professional office experience
- Bachelors degree in a related building industry or environmental discipline
- Knowledge in / willingness to learn about the unique aspects of residential green building
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Excellent communication, organizational and computer skills
- Commitment to USGBC Mission
Salary mid to upper $20k's with excellent benefits.
