Description

The Epsten Group, Inc., is a 40-person architectural and engineering firm located in a LEED-Platinum certified building at 429 Edgewood Avenue, Atlanta GA 30312.

Position Overview:

Produce energy simulations of prominent national and international buildings, reviews of energy modeling documentation provided as part of national and international LEED certification applications, and other tasks related to energy use in buildings.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide energy simulations in equest and potentially other programs
  • Read and understand of project documentation of energy-related systems / sustainable design / LEED, including energy modeling inputs and outputs, LEED templates, calculations, specifications, and architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings
  • Apply various LEED rating systems including templates and documentation requirements, to the review of documentation and preparation of documentation
  • Provide written comments and reports with excellent grammar and spelling
  • Occasional building assessments for Energy Star ratings and other energy performance aspects

Qualifications:

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or similar discipline
  • Experience with at least 10 energy models including some using equest
  • Experience with LEED energy modeling protocol
  • 3 years related experience
  • Accreditation as a LEED AP
  • Familiarity with various energy codes
  • Accreditation as a LEED AP (must have been achieved; candidacy not sufficient)

Projects include prominent LEED-registered buildings throughout the United States. Occasional travel, mostly in the Southeast and Washington, DC area, is required.

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits package include Blue Cross Blue Shield group health insurance, three weeks personal time off, a professional membership, and after two years, a SIMPLE retirement plan.
