~ Eastern Shore Land Conservancy (ESLC) is a regional 501(c)3 conservation organization working to protect rural lands and revitalize towns on the Eastern Shore. ESLC is one of America’s top regional land conservancies having protected 311 properties on more than 58,000 acres of important natural areas, prime farmland, and critical community open spaces. ~

Position Overview

ESLC seeks to hire a talented, energetic professional to launch a new effort aimed at improving public access to the Chesapeake Bay, nature and open space on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Strategic direction and leadership will come from ESLC’s director of conservation in collaboration with other leadership team members. Candidates should have relevant conservation and real estate experience, good communication and partnering skills, a creative and entrepreneurial work style, and a commitment to rural landscapes, small towns and clean rivers.

The position will be based in the new Eastern Shore Conservation Center in downtown Easton and requires schedule flexibility, a vehicle (expenses reimbursed) and occasional night and weekend meetings/events. It is intended as a long-term position that will grow along with regional land protection and public access initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • The land protection manager will be responsible for increasing parks, paths and open space within our towns and villages on the Eastern Shore, focusing on building partnerships and managing projects with high community benefit.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred;
  • Law Degree helpful;
  • Real estate/conservation skills in a community setting;
  • Creative and entrepreneurial approach;
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal savvy;
  • Comfortable working with the many types of people and communities;
  • Thrives in a dynamic, evolving, highly collaborative environment;
  • Solid computer/technology skills; and
  • Local/regional knowledge.

Compensation: This full-time position includes a competitive benefits package and market-competitive salary commensurate with experience.
