Position Overview:
We are looking for a junior architect to join our team. This is a full-time position. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work independently, apply creative problem solving skills and meet deadlines. You must be knowledgeable about residential design and construction.
Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Collaborate with project architects to develop plans for custom and standard LivingHomes.
- Coordinate consultants for mechanical, electric, plumbing, structural and solar work.
- Assist with LEED certification.
- Produce complete set of Construction Documents.
- Participate in project management including tasking, tracking schedule, budgeted time, and deliverables.
- Conduct Construction Administration for projects in production.
- Complete research on pricing, environmental and/or structural systems.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years prior experience in residential design and construction.
- 1-2 years prior work experience with Revit, producing working drawings, and 3-5 years experience with AutoCad.
- At least 2 years on site Construction Administration experience with residential construction, specifically during construction phase.
- Interest/experience in sustainable design and/or prefabrication.
- Minimum BS or BA in Architecture.
- Experience with building code compliance is essential; experience with environmental modeling, construction budgets, and/or project management experience is a big plus, ideally with a firm that designs or builds custom or production homes.
Other Requirements:
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to complete projects with minimal supervision.
- Must be self-directed, resourceful, and goal oriented.
- An eye for detail and a desire to perform at a high level.
- Comfort with a start-up environment, small office, able to wear many hats and enjoy multiple responsibilities.
- A sense of humor.
Software:
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
- Experience with any of the following: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, 3D Studio, VRay, Sketchup, Revit-Ecotect, or other energy modeling software.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project a plus.
Compensation: Salary is negotiable and dependent upon experience and skills. All full-time employees earn ownership in LivingHomes.
