Description
Position Summary:
Responsible for the day-to-day management of TPLs internal Web site and for the creation and promotion of knowledge-sharing strategies related to the intranet.
Responsibilities:
*
Oversees and maintains the intranets system of user profiles and passwords. Works with Human Resources staff to ensure that the user list is accurate and up to date.
* Maintains the intranets system of knowledge area workgroups and workgroup memberships. Creates new workgroups and memberships at the request of local knowledge editors.
* Oversees and maintains the intranets knowledge areas, sections and resource libraries. Creates new knowledge areas, sections, and resource libraries at the request of local knowledge editors.
* Works with National Public Affairs to ensure that home page content is updated regularly.
* Provides day-to-day consultation to knowledge editors on matters related to the individual needs of workgroups, knowledge area structure and knowledge area utilization.
* Constructs, monitors and interprets surveys and other tools that measure user satisfaction and editor experience with the intranet. Works with National Training and the National IS trainer to ensure that user and editor training courses meet the day-to-day needs of users and editors.
* Collects, records, and helps prioritize staff suggestions for intranet enhancements.
* Monitors intranets activity log. Organizes data and prepares reports showing patterns and trends in intranet use.
* Actively promotes knowledge sharing via the intranet. Seeks out regional and department managers and proposes intranet-based solutions to knowledge sharing needs.
* Proposes intranet enhancements. Works with IS database managers and consultants to implement enhancements.
Education and skills:
* Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, MIS or related field; or high school degree with equivalent work experience.
* Minimum three years job experience in position related to information sciences, knowledge management, and/or Web site administration.
* Advanced skills in Windows operating system and Windows-based applications.
* Demonstrated understanding of databases and database-driven Web sites.
Basic Web site construction skills, including the ability to code HTML pages and links.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Willingness to travel 4-6 times a year.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently.
