Description

Ecos Research and Policy Department identifies new technologies that save energy, develops standardized test procedures for those products, and assists government agencies and utilities in developing energy efficiency specifications and programs to accelerate market adoption of the most energy efficient products. The team consists of technical, policy, and market experts that collaborate to ensure market success for energy efficient products.

The Ecos Research team is based in Durango, Colorado - one of the most livable small towns in the West and a mecca for mountain biking, skiing, hiking, and kayaking. The team works in a new, custom-designed green office space with an open floor plan, spectacular views of the mountains, and a dedicated laboratory space. 

Role Description 

As a Research Intern position, you will be responsible for: 

* Conducting Internet research
* Building and using spreadsheets
* Analyzing power and usage pattern data
* Measuring electronics using lab equipment
* Writing drafts of various documents
* Gathering information via telephone 

Required Skills and Qualifications 

The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of undergraduate education and should be entering their senior year in an energy and environmental field of study. Preferred coursework and experience in: physics, chemistry, electronics or programming, and environmental policy. The candidate should have a strong background in science or engineering and have demonstrated lab or field measurement and data analysis experience.

In addition, the candidate should have a strong ability to communicate technical subjects to lay audiences, both in written and verbal form. The ability to work well both independently and with a team is essential. We will also accept students or graduates with higher levels of education, assuming comparable experience. 

Terms of Employment: Intern Duration: 10 - 14 Weeks Full-time.   

Start Date: Flexible, based on candidate preference 

Pay: $8 - 15 /hr, depending on experience
