Quantum Energy Services & Technologies, Inc. (QuEST) provides energy efficiency services to a broad set of customers from Silicon Valley tech firms and hospital groups to retail chains and municipalities. At QuEST we help building owners improve operations and save energy. For municipalities we implement Climate Action Plans and develop community energy strategies.
A common thread throughout all QuEST projects is sharp focus on implementing energy projects and realizing savings. QuEST staff work in a collaborative, collegial environment in which individuals contribute to project teams. This is an 11 month full-time paid position in support of our East Bay Energy Watch program.
Position Overview:
The job responsibilities are focused on completing greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories and the energy component of Climate Action Plans. A total of 6 cities are targeted for this effort. Job responsibilities include: collaborating with city staff in Contra Costa County and PG&E to collect all emissions related data required to complete inventories; meeting with city staff to develop reduction goals; and analyzing energy reduction strategies that will comprise the energy chapter of each city's Climate Action Plan.
Responsibilities:
- Attend training for GHG inventory and energy benchmarking tools
- Contact building managers and coordinate site visits
- Conduct site visits of all city buildings to collect building energy use data
- Collect non-energy emissions data (e.g. solid waste and transportation)
- Input information into online tools
- Report on activities
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate Degree with preference given for energy and sustainability coursework
- Experience working on Climate Action Plans and/or GHG inventories.
- Knowledge of and strong interest in the energy efficiency industry
- Ability to work as part of a team, with internal and external members, and be responsible for task completion
- 1-2 years administrative experience
- Excellent task management and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Word and Excel
- Attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to put others at ease
- Ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals at all levels of the organization
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive personal or rental car to client sites
