Having doubled in size each of the last two years, they are well positioned for ongoing profitable growth and continued expansion in 2009 and beyond.
Position Overview:
The Director of Human Resources reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), is a member of the senior management team, and will be responsible for developing and executing an HR strategy that furthers the business strategy.
Responsibilities:
Key areas of responsibility include organizational development, compensation and benefits, recruitment and retention, training, employee relations, and administration of HR policies and procedures. This is a very hands-on role, in an entrepreneurial business environment, and early challenges will include;
- Collaborating with the senior management team to develop organizational vision, strategies and implementations plans that support the business strategy.
- Establishing the suite of HR programs and systems that enhance IceStone's reputation as an employer of choice (employee handbook, performance management, compensation processes etc.)
- Providing guidance to managers with regards to employee relationship management
- Coordinating recruitment efforts across all organizational levels to ensure that roles are filled with outstanding candidates, in a timely and cost effective manner
- Establish, implement, and document safety training program
- Reviewing and upgrading the compensation and benefit programs to support the business objectives and market trends.
- Establish metrics to track effectiveness of HR programs and policies.
Both part-time (at least 50% commitment) and full-time candidates will be considered.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate for this role will have 10+ years of well-rounded HR experience with at least 6 years in manufacturing environments. Strong business acumen that complements depth across the HR function is required, as is a strong understanding of employment law and safety standards, experience working with diverse workforces and a track record of success in small but rapidly growing business environments.
The candidate we seek will be an effective communicator at all organizational levels with strong influencing skills and the ability to quickly establish credibility throughout the organization. A collaborative style, strong teaming skills, the ability to juggle multiple priorities and a sense of humor are also required.
A Bachelor's degree is required. An advanced degree and the ability to speak Spanish are highly desirable.
