The mission of Active Transportation Alliance is to make bicycling, walking and public transit so safe, convenient and fun that we will achieve a significant shift from environmentally harmful, sedentary travel to clean, active travel.
Position Overview:
The Human Resources & Accounting Manager position is responsible for human resources and limited accounting functions for a $3,000,000 Not for Profit organization. This is a full time position reporting to the Finance Director.
Responsibilities:
- Administer organizational human resources program, and respond to employee requests in a professional manner
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations relative to human resources
- Maintain an employee hand book and job descriptions
- Coordinate all new-hire paperwork and benefits administration
- Maintain all employee files
- Process payroll and record payroll in accounting ledger
- Track employee timesheets and benefits data
- Perform various accounting tasks, such as quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
- Review and proof read invoices for various clients in the private and public sector
- Prepare organizational records for annual audit
- Participate in Active Trans obligatory organizational events and activities
Qualifications:
Qualifying Experience:
- At least 2 years' bookkeeping experience
- Superior business writing, grammar, editing, and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Ability to work independently
- Strong multitasking, analytical and research skills
- Excellent knowledge of Quickbooks, Excel and Microsoft Word
- A passion for the transformational nature of bicycling, walking and transit on community livability and sustainability
- A commitment to Active Transportation Alliance mission, vision and goals
Preferred Experience:
- Accounting or CPA accreditation
- Previous experience with basic human resources functions
