Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Generalist who will assist in providing a wide range of general HR support and advice and ensure the HR department’s operations run smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization as a whole. Due to the diversity of responsibilities of the role, the ideal candidate will be an HR generalist and a competent and resourceful individual with a solid knowledge of U.S. labor laws and compliance, strong people skills, and a passion for HR.

Responsibilities

  • Administers various HR plans and procedures for all organization personnel (with a focus on the United States), assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures, and prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Performs benefits administration for U.S. employees, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, acting as the lead for the annual open enrollment process, updating benefit information in various carrier systems, and communicating benefits information to employees.
  • Manages the 401(k) plan and complete yearly compliance reporting
  • Administers disability and worker's compensation claims.
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program, files EEO-1 report annually, and maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Supports recruitment effort for all exempt and non-exempt personnel, interns, and temporary employees; conducts new hire onboarding; and writes and places job advertisements.
  • Handles employee relations counseling and provides support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve issues and conflicts.
  • Maintains HR information system records, compiles reports from the database, and gathers and analyzes data with useful HR metrics.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations as well as reporting requirements.
  • Manages employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
  • Manages the development and maintenance of the HR sections of organizational systems such as ADP, BambooHR, and SharePoint. 
  • Works closely with Payroll to ensure that all changes related to and including benefits, taxes, direct deposit, and leaves of absence are in the system for all Payroll cycles.
  • Assists with foreign visa process as needed.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of HR experience, or a master's degree in HR management and 2 years of experience in the HR field, or seven years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience. PHR certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience as HR generalist.
  • Understanding of general HR policies and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment/labor laws.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems (e.g. ADPWorkforce Now, BambooHR) is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and people skill.s
  • Aptitude in problem-solving.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Desire to work as a team with a results-driven approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities and to operate in a complex, matrixed environment.
