Description
ecobeco helps home owners modernize their homes to be more energy efficient and more comfortable. We help them save energy, money and the environment. We are looking for an Energy Auditor to provide services throughout the DC-metro area. Ecobeco is a member of the Maryland Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program, and our auditors are certified by the Building Performance Institute. ecobeco is 2009 Maryland Home Performance Contractor of the Year and 2010 Angie's List Super Service Award winner.
We are based in Rockville, MD with most of our work in Montgomery County. We have a strong preference for Maryland residents who live in our Maryland service territory.
Position Overview:
Your role is to perform energy audits in residential buildings, to capture the results of the audits through our data collection process, to take digital and infrared photos, and to perform blower door and combustion safety testing. You will develop a relationship with your customers, and motivate them to get the recommended work completed by using one of ecobeco's recommended contractors.
We will supply your equipment and we will train and mentor you.

Job Requirements:
- Car: You must have a valid driver's license and provide your own transportation to customer locations (you will have a monthly stipend for transportation. You will not be reimbursed for mileage). You will need to make regular visits to our warehouse location in Montgomery County to pick up supplies.
- Mobility: During the home visit, you will be expected to visit all interior rooms and the attic to obtain a full visual inspection of the home, which may include climbing ladders and/or stairs. You will NOT need to go on roofs.
- Some physical strength: You will need to carry approximately 5-7 pounds of equipment during the inspection, and you may need to carry approximately 40 pounds of equipment from your car to the household (including blower door fan).
- Background Check: Our utility programs prohibit people with criminal records from performing work inside homes. You must have no felony convinctions for at least 7 years. Please advise us during your interview if this is a concern.
Qualifications:
- Great verbal communication skills and listening skills
- Building Performance Institute or RESNET certification
- Sales experience a plus
- Home Improvement experience a plus
- Computer literacy required
Compensation: Salary will be a combination of fixed and commissions with expected earnings of around $38 - $45K.
