Energy Auditor - Helping Customers Save Energy, Money and
the Environment

We focus on: 1) ways to save money on utility bills by reducing energy and water use; 2) ways to improve the comfort of the interior environment by focusing on temperature, humidity, and the quality of air and water inside the home; and 3) ways to reduce the customer's environmental impact. ecobeco turns this advice into

Position Overview:
We are looking for an Energy Auditor to provide services throughout the DC-metro area. Ecobeco is a member of the Maryland Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program, and our auditors are certified by the Building Performance Institute.
You will be primarily involved with supporting our Quick Home Energy Check-Up program. This is a great position for newly minted auditors who do not have much field experience. Experienced auditors are welcome as well. We will supply your equipment and we will train and mentor you as needed.
Requirements:
- Transportation: You must have a valid driver's license and provide your own transportation. We will provide a transportation reimbursement. You will travel to customer locations with your assistant.
- Mobility: During the home visit, you may be expected to visit many interior rooms and the attic to obtain a full visual inspection of the home, which may include climbing ladders and/or stairs. You will NOT need to go on roofs.
- Physical strength and dexterity: You will need to carry approximately 40 pounds of equipment from the auditor's car to the household. You will need dexterity and coordination to properly set up and break down equipment.
- Care: You will install CFLs, shower heads, water heater insulation, and more. You need to take care to install these items without breaking them, and to uninstall the customer's existing light bulbs, shower heads, etc. without breaking them. You will use basic tools like a wrench or screwdriver to accomplish these tasks.
- You are available to work 8-10 hours days 4 days a week. Saturdays are on a rotational basis.
Qualifications:
- Great verbal communication skills and listening skills
- BPI-Building Analyst certification required (see our Energy Auditor Assistant position if you do not have this certification).
- Sales experience a plus
- Computer literacy required
- Positive attitude
- Punctuality
- You will need to pass a criminal background check that is required by Pepco beforeyou can enter a customer's home. No felonies allowed. No violent misdemeanors allowed.

Compensation:This position includes health care benefits and paid vacation and holidays. Salary will be a combination of fixed and commissions.
