Description

The Stamford Museum & Nature Center is a 118-acre multi-use facility that includes a working farm with live animals, gardens and historic barns. The Museum facilities also include wooded hiking trails, a planetarium, research observatory, Nature's Playground, otter pond and five galleries of changing exhibits in art, nature and Americana. The Museum receives over 150,000 visitors annually and specializes in programs for family audiences.

Position Overview:

The Stamford Museum & Nature Center's Heckscher Farm seeks Farm Curator/ Educator. Duties include daily care and feeding of livestock, maintenance of facilities and grounds, volunteer supervision, active participation in educational programming and on-site interpretation.

Additional duties and responsibilities include:

  • Working Sunday - Wednesday (8am - 6pm).
  • Working family festival days (3 weekends a year) and holidays

Qualifications:

Previous experience with large animals, gardening, maple sugaring, and/or environmental educator desired, but will train the right person. Good communication skills and team spirit are a must.

You must be able to pass a background check.

Compensation: Full-time position, benefits package available.
