FTSE has established a very strong reputation within the market place for the quality and reliability of its index products and its innovation in creating index solutions for its global clients’ needs. With a strong presence in the European financial markets, and a rapidly growing presence in the North American and Asia Pacific markets the company is now looking to significantly increase its market share and become the number one provider of index client solutions globally.

To achieve this objective, FTSE have developed a global index series for socially responsible investors called, “FTSE4Good” which measures the performance of companies who pass a set of corporate social responsibility standards.

As this part of FTSE’s business develops there is an immediate need for an individual to lead, manage and develop FTSE’s socially responsible investment business.

Role And Key Functions

Working out of London and reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Executive, the Head of Corporate Social Responsibility will take direct responsibility for the development, marketing, planning and future direction of the FTSE4Good index series. The position will be tasked with setting the priorities and driving forward the development of the index criteria. It cannot be emphasised enough that success in this role will require a high percentage of client-facing activity and an intimate understanding of CSR and the current issues within the field.

Main priorities will include:

Development of the FTSE4Good criteria

*Management of the FTSE4Good Advisory Committees

*Development of relationships with NGO’s and International Trade Groups

*Development and management of FTSE’s CSR performance

*Provide media comment on FTSE4Good

*Manage FTSE’s day to day relationship with Unicef and CSR data providers

*Global marketing campaign strategy and planning

*Advising business unit MD’s on marketing plan delivery and execution

Key Relationships

The performance and contribution of this position will also be influenced and measured by the effectiveness of the relationships built with the following functions across the FTSE Group.

*Business Unit Managing Directors

*Head of Communications

*Business unit marketing and sales managers

*Head of research and development

Qualifications/Experience
*
Minimum of 4/5 years experience as Marketing Manager/SRI Analyst or within a business in a CSR specific role.
Proven success ideally in all above disciplines. Professional qualification in a business disciple is desirable.

*Experience of working within a non-hierarchical, rapidly growing business operating to tight time schedules with the ability to plan ones own time and resource. Self-motivation, flexibility and an energetic and innovative nature are crucial.
